DUI - FELONY - MISDEMEANOR - DEFENSE

How does one measure success? Some might say money, some might say happiness... When it comes to criminal cases, success is measured by my win loss record.

As a Prosecutor for Rock Island County, I tried 14 jury trials and hundreds of bench trials. The charges ranged from Murder, to DUI and other Misdemeanors, to traffic offenses.

In each of those trials, I carried the burden of proving a defendant guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. This is the strongest legal burden in our judicial system, and with good reason. Here's my bottom line, I convicted 13 of those 14 defendants. As far as bench trials go, I can count on one hand the number of times I've lost those, and the number of times I've lost a motion hearing on the other. The burden was always on me, and it was a virtual guarantee I would carry that burden successfully.

Now look at the flipside, as YOUR defense attorney, all I have to do is be able to raise that doubt. When deciding who you are going to trust your livelihood or even your FREEDOM with, keep in mind the bottom line. Who wins, and who never even tries cases. Over the past several years, I've spent more time in a courtroom and successfully tried more cases than any other lawyer in Rock Island County: Prosecutor, or Defense Attorney. At the State's Attorney's Office, my case load was greater than all other prosecutors combined. Yet, despite that workload, I still maintained the most dominant prosecution record in the office.
